News from Nancy

Dear Robins,

Mom Andrews gave Ed a "Wedding Ring" quilt that she had made while they were living in Lake Junaluska.  I understand they lived at the Lake twice and that during one of those times Ed was born.  I don't know which time was the quilt time.  It has been well used and there are a few holes in the top.  It has a beige background fabric and most of the prints are in pastel colors.  We have it on a quilt frame in our bedroom.  It is very special.  Mom gave it to us about three years before she died.

Ed is hanging in there.  He fell yesterday at church and knocked himself out.  CT and X-Ray were clear and he doesn't seem to have suffered any real damage beyond a couple of red places on his forehead.  He was very fortunate.  He was waiting for me to finish choir practice so we could go into church for the Christmas pageant.  He apparently fell asleep (rocked, no doubt, by the gentle tones of the choir) and fell off the chair, landing flat on his face on the concrete floor.  I called Janey and she and Gill came right over and took us the Mass General Emergency Room, where we were royally treated and released before one o'clock.  Janey has been doing weekend call as a surgeon for 18 years or so, ever since Med School, as she did her residency there.

Wishing you all the blessings of Christmas and a joy-and-peace-filled New Year.

Love,
Ed and Nancy
